Kyle Troyer is a Lecturer at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute School of Architecture and has previously held teaching positions at the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design. Currently practicing as a Designer at Endemic Architecture, he has gained a wide range of professional experience at Hume Architecture, FORMA, and Overlay Office. He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design, where he was the recipient of the Faculty Prize in Architecture, the Kanter Tritsch Prize in Energy and Architecture Innovation, the Mario J. Romanach Fellowship, the First Prize E. Lewis Dales Traveling Fellowship, the Schenk-Woodman Merit Scholarship, and the Newberry Scholarship for his academic work. Additionally, he received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Kent State University College of Architecture and Environmental Design.
His work has been recognized and published in venues such as the Venice Biennale, the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design, Pressing Matters X-XII, The Architect’s Newspaper, and various competitions. He has also served as an invited critic at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Pratt Institute, University of Texas, University of Pennsylvania, and Kent State University. Kyle's teaching and research interrogate mixed fidelities through tectonics and materiality, exploring how informalities can contribute to producing a contemporary aesthetic.
